A gamified options market built around the Groton Surprise Holiday tradition — the school day that gets announced out of nowhere. Students can browse a daily calendar of real campus events, take and list positions on what they think will happen, and watch the market move as the day unfolds.
Each event gets its own market detail page, and a running leaderboard tracks who is reading the school best. It’s part financial-literacy toy and part inside joke: an excuse to teach how options pricing works using the one thing every Grotonian is already speculating about. The site is a full-stack Next.js app deployed serverlessly through OpenNext, with Firestore holding user profiles, leaderboard standings, and the per-day market state.
